I hated for being diabetic because all my relatives know about the disease i have. They treat me like i'm disabled. My sibling never hang out with because they feel i'm boring because i don't eat or drink with them. they always make fun of me like don't ask him he will not eat or drink anything with us same goes with friend. Please just anyone here can tell me i'm disabled or not.Does my siblings and friends are treating me in right way?. Sometimes I feel like just to stop every medications and diet so that hyperglycemia can kill me. Sorry for bad english!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi @vikrant12089 ,

Welcome to the forum.
You are not "disabled." Just your friends & family in thier thinking....

How long have you been diabetic?

Unfortunately siblings aren't always nice. This is sad, but a reality of life.

What have you been advised that you can't eat that is making you feel excluded from the family? it would be good if your family could find a way to make you feel included, even though you can't eat exactly the same things as them.

If your new diet is lower in carbs it might not do them any harm at all, to eat a bit more like you.

Actually everytime i get hear from them you should not eat this and that and give me weird look. I'm literally fed up. Hope some miracle happens and everyone forget about my disease so that atleast i can eat my favourite dishes once in month and no one will stop me

I can understand your frustration. Type 2 diabetes in people as young as you is quite a recent development, and not much is known about how it will affect you over the longer term. So it's important to keep your carb intake low, and try to eat as healthy as you can, and keep your blood sugar under control.

But as you get older you can make more of your own decisions about what to eat, and maybe adapt food you like so it's more low carb. There are some interesting developments in low carb cooking, you might find it interesting to google and see what you like the look of. Many of them are regular meals adapted to have lower carbs. Over time you will be able to control your own diet, and find out what you like, that is healthy, and meets your needs, in terms of carbohydrates.
