I have accidentally given my little sister an extra insulin injection before bed time. Her blood sugar was around 9 when I did this. What should I do? I'm so worried x

Sorry Nobody has seen this yet, I am T2, but my mum was Insullin dependant and I what I would have done was keep a close eye on her BG levels (so not bedtime for you yet) and if it goes too low give her something like milk to drink or some glucose tablets or the like very quickly.

hya becs,
sorry noone answered sooner
you need to keep a close eye if this ever happens again and i would eat extra also :)

Thanks for your responses! All seems good now and the levels are managable. Lets hope i put my brain into gear next time! :)

Hi Becs
Glad everything turned out ok! At least you realised your error and were able to monitor her so good for you. You're not the first and won't be the last to make such an error. I twice took my short-acting thinking it was my long-acting, which resulted in a really big dose each time. I had to stay up till 3 in the morning stuffing my face till I felt sick the first time it happened.
The second time I was rushing around preparing the kids breakfast and like you, realised what I'd done straight away and completely freaked out. My husband took me straight to a & e and I was dealt with really quickly, although they kept asking if it was an accident; think they were worried it was a suicide attempt or something! It was frightening experience and I felt such an idiot, but thanks to the staff monitoring me and adjusting the drip( and a few mars bars!) I was ok after about 6 hours.
My error was caused by changing from the old "cloudy" long-acting to clear Lantus, and as both my insulins were in purple coloured vials I got confused. I'm now back to the cloudy insulin and always keep my long-acting in the fridge, so no confusion now, touch wood1
Hope you have a better night's sleep tonight.
Jus :)
