No, I don't get more colds or illnesses than before I got diabetes. I get less than my best friend who dies t have diabetes.
I had the flu vaccination once and hated it because it made me feel ill for two or three weeks, so I never had it again.
I try to keep my HbA1C low and I eat plenty of veg and fruit and try to be as healthy as possible, bearing in mind I'm quite lazy!
I think the important thing is not to get complacent though so if I do get ill, I always bear in mind it can mess my diabetes up or potentially progress to something worse.
