Hi everyone. My name is Mamu I just joined this forum two days ago.I was recently diagnosed with having a fatty liver 3 WEEKS ago and I have been a diabetic for 10 years. My sugar level was very high so the Doctors placed me on Galvus50/met1000.I just read about Galvus in this forum that those with liver issues should not take Galvus ,Those having a fatty liver,do they count in?I really need to know because the Med brought down my accelerated sugar level though not so fast but its descending and there is much rave about the wonders of the drug in our diabetic clinic.but am concerned about the side effect.I also feel and ache when ever i take it after a very light dinner. Please I need as much information as i can get.Thank you.

fatty liver can often be part of diabetes, along with pancreas and belly fat...a sustainable diet is a good way to get rid of it and reduce your BG and weight.
as to galvus, your Dr is the best one to ask. He will read your bloods to see if you have more than fatty liver.
you may find you may be able to reduce dose or won't need the galvus in a month or so. My BG was back into normal range in that time frame.
ask lots of questions and do lots of reading, there are some links in the quote

I take Galvus and have done for over 3 years as I could not tolerate metformin in any form . I have not got any liver problems but have had no side effects whatsoever
