Hi all, I have had hayfever for about 3 months now and it sends my bg levels sky high (bit like having a cold). I rarely seem to get below about 8 or 9 at the moment regardless of food or exercise, Next HBA1C in a couple of weeks and I shudder to think what it will be considering my last two were 38 and 39, really not looking forward to it at all.

Hay fever season has been bad this year @chri5, wife & kids get it and they've suffered too, don't worry about what your HbA1c will be as you can't do anything about it now.

Here's hoping it's a good one anyway.

Cheers, It`s funny but I`ve never had hayfever before and a few people that I know have it this year for the first time. I didn`t even think about hayfever at first, thought I was becoming allergic to my cat!:joyful:.

Some of us on low carb diets have found that this helps with hayfever symptoms, so it may be worth a try.

Thank you for the suggestion but I have been low carbing (and vlc) for over a year now. Normally my bg levels are good but with this hayfever.....sigh.

Well you have my sympathy then!

I didn't know that hayfever could affect your blood sugar levels, are there any sources for that?

Hayfever has been a nightmare for me for about five years, around the time i got type 2 diabetes, i feel sick and nauseous, have to frequently stay indoors, I have huge bulbous boils on my nose and have such large sneezes i nearly fall over. I do agree this year has been worse, the medics don't really take it seriously yet it is a very debilitating condition. I would welcome any ideas on diabetes and hayfever.

thanks.
