Initially the diabetes clinic were dismissive but I insisted on being referred to the consultant and after some useful chats he now agrees I'm effectively T1 but without a conclusive test result and my treatment is based on that assumption. So, insist on a referral. At that HBA1C level I would expect you to be on the Basal/Bolus regime as that's a dangerous level. With a positive GAD you ARE LADA/T1 and the consultant should go along with that. don't worry too much about your recorded type but insist you are given the right treatment to get your BS down.</p></blockquote><p></p>
