Hba1c 42 to 35

It very clearly says "increased risk". It doesn't say "high risk" . There's a difference - see my earlier post.

Also, if you redo it but this time put in 29 for your waist measurement suddenly you're 0.85, absolutely OK, you'll live forever.

That tells me a couple of things. Firstly, that this ratio calculation isn't really aimed at people with 29.5 inch waists. Secondly, that if a change of only 0.5 inches in waist circumference has such a dramatic impact on your health (I do not believe that) the test is overly sensitive to a minor change - in other words, it's not a test, it's a wake-up if you've been kidding yourself about the weight you've gained. I don't think that applies to you.

So it's not the "belly fat" it's another "might be OK for 75% of people" estimated answer to a general "am I overweight" question - which I'd file alongside BMI and that machine in Boots in terms of accuracy.

I'm still not seeing what's concerning you.

Ok thankyou that’s great I was seeing it as high risk not increased risk!!! That was my concern the belly fat being linked to diabetes and other health problems. I will take that on board now I’m sorry I’m such a pain but the whole prediabetes thing when diagnosed at hba1c 42 was made to sound it was prediabetes and since then I just have wanted to shift the belly fat thinking that was the cause I did shift some!!! But I don’t want to lose anymore now. Now it’s getting my head around that i it’s ok to eat eggs every morning but have to get used to adding fats which I’m always scared though I use extra virgin olive oil on everything and avocado every day. I do eat cheese but never know how much I should allow myself!!! I want to stick to the low carb as it seems the only way to keep hba1c down. I’m including some lentils and beans as a small side portion with my evening meals and I haven’t been snacking as many sites have said not to snack!!! It just gets confusing sometimes!!

I’m just scared now that my anxiety is causing me diabetes and I don’t know what to do. Having to live like this is awful. Now I have my period and again I’m seeing higher numbers and am scared that the hba1c is incorrect.

Can I just ask where are you finding 2 carb rolls? I can’t find anything low carb in the supermarkets apart from the sliced seeded bread which is 3.5 carbs per slice.

I haven't found anything really low-carb in any supermarket. The rolls come from a company called SRSLY Low Carb. I order online, but unless you have a regular delivery they are often sold out. The rolls keep very well in the fridge. Link below.

They do loaves and other things, most of which I haven't tried. I have tried a sort of "hot cross bun" which I do like - at 5.6g per bun.

I don't have any connection with this business. I do wish they'd concentrate a bit more on production rather than "branding"and image.

Also I finger prick tested while doing a glucose tolerance test. Finder prick tests are capillary blood and show higher readings. The vein blood is the real one to measure .

@gowest12 i really do think your anxiety is a much larger problem than any level of diabetes you may, or may not, have.
Please stop thinking anything about diabetes or blood sugars and go and get help for your anxiety, please

Finger pricks give higher readings? I didn’t know this.

Yes . I looked up studies . Not so much on fasting but the after meal readings . Can be 10-20 percent higher . The blood in your veins is the best to measure .
