When diagnosed in March my HbA1c was in the 90's.
I saw the consultant for the first time last week, and they did a blood test, first since being diagnosed.
HbA1c is now 53, and my DSN is really pleased.
I was wondering how this compares with everyone else?

It is frightening just how high our blood sugars were at diagnosis. You have made fantastic progress. Keep up the good work.

Best wishes,

Wow , well done that's a brilliant reading .
You must be feeling very happy with your self .

Well done
:):):)

We all do, I guess @johnmtp - secret is to not get too stressed about it. You've made a really good start there though.

The other thing to remember is that we are all different and react to foods and insulin differently. Some foods which cause one person's bloods to go sky high will hardly affect someone else, etc. It's all about what works for you. I've been diabetic for nearly 9 years and still wouldn't say I have it under control :( But I'm learning all the time.

My last one was 7.8 or 62 - not great, but ok for me. And definitely room for improvement.

When I was diagnosed in late April, my HbA1c was 106. Last week it was 66. Not great, but going down. :)

You've done very well! Congrats!

I was diagnosed at 130ish, 4 weeks later it was 73 and at the 3 month mark it was 42. Amazing what can be done in that first short period!
