Hi everyone, me and my partner are wanting to have a baby. I have already got one child and it was a rough pregnancy.
My HBA1C is currently very high!! It’s at a shameful 100!! What’s the best way to bring it down safely. I know I need to get my blood sugar back into control but I’m just wondering how some of you do it.

Many thanks
Jayne

A hba1c of 100 is equivalent to an average blood sugar of 15.4. So what are you currently doing to control your blood sugar, if anything? Do you test your blood sugar? If so, when do you test? What insulin regime are you on? Do you carb count? Have you done any basal testing recently? Have you done any checks to see if you're using the right insulin:carb ratio? Do you know what your correction factor is and do you correct for highs?

Ladies with type 1 are advised to aim for a hba1c under 48 before trying to conceive.

After answers to @catapillar’s great questions I’d recommend a low carb lifestyle complimented by exercise if that works for you. I got my HbA1c down from 76 to 52. I’d recommend the Libre.
