Hba1c and infections

I am due for an Hba1c on Wednesday but yesterday came down with what I think is tonsillitis, very painful and can hardly talk and feel rubbish. Tomorrow I will go to GP and I am sure I will get antibiotics. I am away at a hotel this morning and have not checked blood sugars. What are the chances that this will mess up my blood test results next week, it is better to cancel and do it when I am feeling better?

HbA1c is a measurement that looks at a period of approx the last 90 days so your feeling rough currently won't affect the result

Oh tonsillitis is not fun I hope you recover soon.

Your infection will only impact your blood sugars during the period of your infection. Your hbA1c can still be done.
