HbA1c blood test following sickness

Hi all,
I'm due to take my HbA1c test in the next few days, but have been horribly sick this past week. As a result, not only has my food intake been quite minimal (or nothing at all for a day or so), but I couldn't even take any of my medication. I slowly started introducing it about 4-5 days from the first day of sickness (once I felt like eating a little something), and began including the Metformin. (There are still one or two pain relievers I don't dare take as my stomach is so sore).

Will this past week have an effect on my bt reading, does anybody know? :?

Hi there, dunno if this will help but I had my wisdom teeth out a few weeks ago now and one of the painkllers they put me on made me quite sick and I was advised by the hospital that this had been the culprit in my raised blood sugars .....

dont be surprised if your hba1c is higher than you expected as it will probably be higher if u had high bloods when ill, im expecting my next one to be as im in the throws of getting rid of a bad chest ,throat n virus :?
