Hey everyone. I am new to this forum I have been diabetic for 4 years type 2, my partner and I have we want to start a family so I’m trying to lower my HBA1C. I have been cutting out sugar and as much carbs as I can. As well as sticking to a 1500calorie diet or under. At my last diabetic appointment I seen a nutritionist who helped me with understanding what was good and what to avoid (things I didn’t even know) and I was told butter was okay but obviously not to over do it. I had an appointment with my nurse today and she had asked what I had for breakfast and I told her I had brown toast, 1 boiled egg which came to 300 calories and then asked about butter which I explained I weight out 10grams between the bread and I got told off and was told to avoid butter and that I shouldn’t be eating it. I’m a bit confused because I thought if I wasn’t having sugar and trying to cut out carbs as much as possible I didn’t see the issue with butter. Sorry it’s a weird post and a long one but any advice would be great. Thanks.
