Hi all. I'm northern ireland and waiting on ivf. Due to start in August. My clinic want my hba1c at 53/7% before I can start. I'm currently 57/7.4%
Im doing my best to avoid foods that spike me, exercise for one hour each day and have had my metformin increased from 500mg once daily to twice daily.
I'm type 1 on fiasp and Levimer. Is there anything else I can do to achieve this target? Also will it show in my hba1c that soon? Lastly is there anything that settles the sickness that I'm getting with the increased metformin?
I think lower carb would be the first thing to do and then you can introduce smaller amounts as time goes by.....
test more, so every meal and in between every meal, review your basal and insulin/carb ratios regularly [every few weeks], employ dose timing tactics to keep spike down.....
Its been mentioned a number of times in these forums. Freestyle libre, if used for small correction doses, will shave quiet a bit off hba1c. I have used the libre, but never insulin, so I am just repeating what has been stated here previously. Best of luck.
