HbA1C % or mmol?

Hoping someone can answer a quick question. I generally say my HbA1c has come down to 6.7 from 9.9 - is that the old terminology and I should be saying 50 now against 85 on diagnosis (as per a useful chart I found online!)

yes -- in essence the (Old money is % ) the new money is the number

all your medical people should understand both

In the UK we use
mmol/l in our finger prick tests
and
mmol/mol in our HbA1cs

We use percentages here in the US for our a1c results largely because our real-time blood glucose levels are measured in mg/dl.

For example: 5mmol/l would equate to 90mg/dl (conversion is to multiply by 18)
That makes it easier to avoid confusion between my daily blood sugar and 3-month a1c test.
