Hba1c pre-pregnancy

Can anyone tell me what their hba1c was before they got pregnant? Mine is 7.5 and the hospital said I have to get it to 6.5 but I'm really struggling. Obviously I want be give myself the best chance possible of a healthy pregnancy but I'm in my 30s now and am wondering whether waiting longer to get my bg down will do more harm than good! All advice greatly appreciated!

Mine is 7.5 and my dr says she will be happy with 7 (go and get it checked on Monday eeek) i am also in my 30s and worried about the ticking clock
