Although I’ve had to wait nearly 3 weeks for my result, my hba1c has come back as 53 mmols. (Down one point from last October). I’m ecstatic as this means my back operation an go ahead on 1st July. Of course when I phoned the GP practice to chase my result she said the doctor wants you to go on a statin as your cholesterol is high. I replied “Well that ain’t gonna happen” Utter silence on the other end of the line 
I also had a pre-op assessment today with lots of information to take home. I have to stop taking one of my blood pressure tablets and the dapagliflozin 5 days before, plus shower everyday with a special shower gel and wash my hair with it twice in the 5 days leading up to the operation. What a faff!
