Hba1c result

Hi all.. as you may have seen from my previous posts I have been struggling with high bgs. My hba1c result was given today and they said it was 72 and way above average. Im used to knowing my average bg is 7 or 8..any idea what this 72 means? I've looked online its just confusing. Sorry to ask!

Hi,

Different measurement criteria and units. Your HbA1c of 72mmol/mol equates to 8.7% (the old way of measuring HbA1c) and 11.3mmol/l which is the unit we see on our meters. So your average BS throughout the day over the past 2 to 3 months has been 11.3.

Sadly, no. It isn't good at all!
I'm a type 2 not on any meds, so I can't really offer any advice. Hopefully an insulin user will be along. I can only say, maybe your diet is wrong?

Depends on what it was last time, if it's going down then its not too bad, especially given your latest problems with your meds effecting your bg levels.

I have had very high readings due to medication/stress. Getting into low carbs now though I think thats the way forward for me.. thanks for your help!

unfortunately it was lower last time in april. Dear me. I need to sort it out!
