Too numerous to mention
Having eventually got my t est results which are 56mmol and converting it to % 7.4.... Is this a bit high? At the time of the blood test I was 2 weeks into my low carb eating and considering all the extra amount of **** I'd been eating before this, I was expecting and hoping that my result would have been lower.

my other questionis, there were no results for cholestral, tris, ldl and hdl. are they not automatically tested at the same time?

There was a result from my previous test, chol=3.5 Tri=2.2 LDL=1.21 HDL=2.9 Are they good? I've not notion of what they should be.

If any more knowledgable person out there can tell me I'd be grateful. Oh and by the way, the word back from the receptionist was that the GP was happy and everything was normal.....I'm not so sure :? kate

7.4 is a bit high, but if you'd only been on your lower carb diet for a few weeks, don't worry. The HbA1c reflects your blood sugar control over the previous month or so, meaning your new diet hasn't had much time to affect things. Stick to the diet, and it should help with your cholesterol as well

7.4% HbA1c is slightly high but are good results for you this early on. You will find that it will come down some more and my guess is that you should be able to reach around 6% eventually. Just stick at it and it will come down slowly, and that's the best way.

Your other results are good as well, tri's slightly up but mothing to worry about, you will find that these will come down as well over time.

Your doc. would consider your previous results OK so would only test your HbA1c.

Your HbA1c would not be greatly affected by your 2 weeks low carbing, it is an average figure of say, the last three months.

Your next one will be much lower.
