I haven't had a blood test since May and have also been off Metformin since then. I'm due to have a blood test on Monday & I wondered if the test with the daily strips is indicative of what the reading might be.
It is usually between 4.5 and 5.8.
Can you tell us exactly when your levels are usually between 4.5 and 5.8? How often do you test each day, and at what times?
In order to vaguely estimate an HbA1c you would need to test every day morning, noon and night, before and after every meal (and be able to catch your peaks after meals and determine how long you are "up there".) Finger pricks are just snap shots of what you are at the time you test. You really don't know what you are in between tests unless you wear a Freestyle Libre or CGM.
If your numbers have been like that through the day on average then I? don't think you need worry. But worrying about it won't change it so it may be best to just wait and see.
