Hello,

I have just changed to a new consultant and he has just posted out a letter with my HbA1c in it, but I can't tell it means it is at 8.5 or 10.9? please see below

HbA1c – (IFCC) 69 mmol/mol (DCCT) 8.5% (eAG) 10.9 mmol/L

Thanks for the help
Guy

Your HbA1c is 8.5% which equates to average blood glucose readings on your meter of 10.9 mmol/l

The IFCC number is just another way of showing the 8.5% I believe its a new standardised measurement.
