Help. I need to know why when i have my blood test the underlying is 7.5 mmol/l but my every day readings are in high teens and twenties and sometimes low thirties. I don't understand how it works. Can someone help. Thank you

Hi @Suegrovess

A1c is an averaged reading so you could be low in between the spikes.

Also, are you sure about the units? A1c is often reported as a percentage, so 7.5% might make more sense.

Oh ok. I may need to ask. I was told not to worry but it does as they meter readings are so high. What is it a % of?

The chart below came from one of the pages on the site.........

7.5% would equate to around 9mmol/l according to this. The figure therefore relates to the percentage of glucose in your blood.
