Type of diabetes
Type 2
Hello all I would like to ask this question about my half yearly Hba1c test. I am currently on the following tabs for this problem two Metformin morning and night then two Gliclazide morning and night now they are talking about taking me to the next level of type 2 to type one and my blood sugar is still rising. My last Hba1c test was this week to find it has gone from 76 to 79. I am still trying after 4 days to get an appointment to see my doctor to discuss this as you have to ring in at 12 o'clock to get an appointment I cannot get one as so many other people are doing the same then when you do get through they just say sorry non left ring tomorrow I could be dead before they get an open appointment for me to discus this result now I have got to the stage of just not caring and wonder what would happen if I stopped taking my meds just lost interest in this ongoing saga of trying to get meds sorted confused patient of diabetes type 2 but is it really type one who gives a s...

My GP does the same for appointments, I tell them I have been calling since surgery opened and it is an urgent case, I usually get appointment.

Have you altered your diet, meds it's not the only option for you, a diabetes diet and exercise can help with Hbac1 bloods.

There is a section on different diets on this site, have a good look around I'm sure you'll find something suitable.
There is also lots of support and help if you ask

hi, not sure how long you've been type 2? But if you've been type 2 for a while and you are trying all you know and it still isn't working it sounds like it is time your docs ran the diagnostic tests on you again to check whether or not you are still producing insulin. It depends on the result of those tests as to what your treatment should be. There is no point being on oral meds when you are not producing sufficient insulin, as they won't work because they're designed for people who still have a fully functioning pancreas. You may just need to be on insulin therapy. You can still be type 2 on insulin therapy too... you don't change to type 1. The only time you are type 1 or type 1.5 is when you are producing antibodies (they do the GAD test for that). I hope your docs can help. I wish you the best. :)
