Hello,

I'm Clorinda and my 11 month old baby has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes about 2 weeks ago. We are in the UK and he's been put straight onto a pump.

Obviously in shock esp as there is no known type 1 in the family.

We have great support from the NHS here, and he seems to be getting on well with the pump, though I hate the insertion/set changes. Hopefully we will be able to use the glucose sensor soon once his levels even off a bit, but a bit anxious about the insertion again!

Looking forward to learning more about diabetes in kids, so will mosey on over to the kids board shortly.

Awwe i'm sorry to hear your baby has been diagnosed.

Sounds like you have a good team to help take care or him/her..as you have a pump and getting a glucose sensor..

you'll find some help, advice and support in the kids forum i'm sure :)

welcome to the forum too of course :)

Sorry to hear about your baby's diagnosis and am not surprised to hear that you are shocked. This is a real community here and you will find great support and infromation which will help you. Hope all goes well for you both. :)
