Can anyone tell me if Health Line products are any good fo us type 2 diabetics. My wife as just bought some bikies in from Morrisons, that are said to be good for diabetics. I wont eat em until someone on here can inform me if they are anygood, or should I say no good .

Im new to all this , since xmas eve 2007 when I was diagnosed. Im doing well with the BS levels, mai9nly around 4.5 to 6.5, peaking at 8/9 after meals.

Anyway it says these bikies have sweetners in Maltitol and sorbital (0.1% sacharin)

any of you wiser folks out there, let me know, cos Ive gone without anything sweet since xmas, and to a certain extent am happy with my BS levels, although I do like most get a craving.

Highmoor,

Maltitol and sorbitol are both sugar-alcohols. In other words they are glucose. Its because they are not made from sugar (i.e. sucrose) the manufacturers can clain them to be "sugar free".

Any manufacturer that claims a product that contains maltitol or sorbitol is good for diabetics is telling lies. Advice from Diabetes UK is do not under any circ umstances use products specially produced for diabetics.

You are better off eating normal biscuits, but just less of them.
