The UK version of the healthy plate is mentioned often, so I looked it up to compare with the Canadian version. They are somewhat different. The Canadian one is half vegetables, one quarter protein and one quarter starch. At my diabetes course we were told as much veg as you could hold in two hands, starch the size of your fist and protein the size of your palm and the thickness of your baby finger. Fat was the size of the end of your thumb. Milk and fruit are off to the side, not included on the actual plate.
It would be interesting if members from different countries could share their country's take on healthy eating.
