Hi,

anyone else suffer from hearing/feeling their heartbeat in their left ear. It has started happening quite a lot over the last few weeks and is very annoying. even more so when it doesn't happen and you then start listening out for it.

Yes ! although not exclusively in my left ear - I suffer alot with infections in my ears - I have ear eczema and if that flares up - (as it does) then I tend to get an infection - but I did ask my nurse to swab it for fungal infection just to be extra sure - when its all flared up my ear canal swells up and that's when I can hear my heart beat.

Hi Steve, I have a pulsating sound/ feeling in my right ear, don't know whether or not it is tinnitus ? and that's the ear that has slight hearing problems, but nothing serious.
Have you been to see your GP, it's best if you can or the opticians, as they do hearing tests now ( I had mine done at Boots about 3 yars ago )
Best wishes RRB

Omg, I also suffer from ear eczema, infections and tinnitus. I can truly say how awful it all is and it's a never ending cycle of itchy ears leading to scratching/rubbing which leads to infections and then treatment. Do you take any medication for the eczema?

Ear Calm, Sofradex, Avamys, Antibiotics currently and as of Friday last I am applying Hydrocortisone cream.

I have also had my hearing tested - its been ongoing for a number of years now

I've also had this fo several years and I'm under a ENT specialist. As mine is quite severe I've been told to take precautions like keeping my ears dry at all times, so have to wear ear plugs when showering/bathing, not to put anything in my ears lik cotton bud and to use my hydrocortisone spray (OTOMIZE) sparingly and only if really necessary. I see my consultant every three months and have my ears syringed, cleaned and special antibiotic cream inserted by him.

Yep been suffering for it for many years , went to ENT was told I had tinnitus , was given hearing aids for industrial deafness , didn’t cure it I only get it when I lie on my right hand side when I sleep , so I don’t that any more, I also suffer from excess ear wax so. I try to clean my lugs regularly, my mother suffers from tinnitus so have to think it could be hereditary

My tinnitus has improved greatly since I started wearing hearing aids. I also had a brain scan because my hearing loss pattern is unusual, but thank goodness all was well. I still get some tinnitus but nothing like the way it used to be.

Edited to add - I can hear heartbeat in both ears without aids.
