Hi
Where I work is basically a big marquee/tent, work 2 shifts - 7.30-11am & 4-11pm
With this lovely weather the marquee has been absolutely sweltering & a bit worried about he temperature for my pump
Any thoughts? Also will have a look what is the legal working requirement?
If you're in the UK, there is no maximum working temperature.
You need to check the maximum operating temperature of your pump, but I would guess it should be good for 40+.
I don't use insulin, but again, you need to check the maximum temperature of your's.
Staying hydrated is the main thing to be aware of.
Hopefully others will be along to answer with more detail shortly.
People in hot countries use pumps so can't see a problem, just be aware your insulin might not be to happy so perhaps change your cartridge every 3 days instead of leaving until empty.
Heya @Jessd - your pump should be fine in this heat - just keen checking your BG levels as being on your feet and in this sweltering temperature may mean you could drop low - how are your levels ?
