So last night I woke up about 8 times, every time I went back to bed seconds later I would jump up like some thing was wrong at one point I remember using the loo, going into the kitchen, washing my hands. Then some how I realised I should test my sugars. I remember going to get my strips and the container being empty then getting my spare meter to get strips that container being empty some time later It kicked in I need carbs. Got some crackers and a drink. It was just a bit after 4am. Later on in the morning while getting up off the sofa I found strips on the floor. I remember panicking like MAD (I had no strips when I check in the night) . Didn't pick up my prescription yesterday . I found the strips after 8 am try to take a blood reading here is the weird part. I had 4 Strips 3 times I got strip is wet.(it wasn't) one time it said not enough blood when if anything there was too much blood. Could the heat have effect the strips as they were out on the carpet. Just realise the importance of spare strips. I though one day was fine as I had couple strips left. I made sure to pick my prescription up first thing this morning and bought myself 2 extra boxes of strips.

Heat shouldn't really affect the strips but moisture and contaminates might. They do go bad after a while, there's usually a use by date on the container. Yeah, always best to have spare strips, its the not knowing that gets you!

I would bin the strips you found on the carpet and not take any chances with them, the manufacturers do stipulate to close the lid securely after each and every use.
