Hi Morillo
I know how you feel and its a difficult thing to deal with at first, lots of confusion, conflicting advice, and all these do's and dont's they can be bewildering and certainly make it difficult to cope with,
I felt the same when i was first diagnosed and i tried to deny it all too, but i promise you it gets better, after this initial time you will adjust and learn how to cope
for me it was baby steps that helped, every time you change something for the better it helps,
my first thing was to ditch the sugar in my drinks, i switched to sweetners in hot drinks and sugar free soft drinks, that was the biggest single change for me as someone who loves me coffee's
after that it was change something else on a weekly basis that ade a difference, one week it was no more biccies, the next it was less sugary fruit and more savoury treats instead, you soon adapt and there is a wealth of information on this site, but take one bit at a time and you will cope
pop back whenever you need advice, usually someone here can help
best regards
Crofty,

Oh poor you, it is so confusing to begin with and no doubt you have all kinds of emotions to deal with. Take a deep breath and try to make a few changes, the suggestion to cut out sugar in drinks is good. Another good tip would be to look carefully at your breakfast as it is the meal that sets you up for the day. I changed from cereals to egg and tomato on Burgen toast and it made such a difference keeping me fuller for longer. You need to put your feet up and spend some time looking around this forum for dietry advice and you will find plenty of helpful stuff. There is also advice for newly diagnosed and I'm sure someone will come along with a link.
