Hi all just came across this sight and the forums are excellent readings. my question is if you dont mind i was diagnosed with type 2 last year the doctor give me a chance to diet and exercise to try and lower my glucose levels this failed and was recently put on metformin 500mg twice aday. went back to the doctor who was pleased with my blood results after 6 weeks on meds. BG was 6.5 LDL was well under 5 so the doctor wants me now to test before and after meals for a few weeks to see what foods send my BG up or down do i test while taking the medication or not i have to take 1 500mg metformin after breakfast and one after my evening meal thank you all very much. Hi Wendy and welcome to the forum.
It seems as though your post got overlooked. :(
As the Dr. has prescribed the medication, please carry on using it and test. Do you know the correct times to test?

Catherine.

Hi Chick
I'm interested in what guidance you've had on eating. Seeing that your diet only trial didn't work.
Most of us find that the comventional "eat plenty of starchy carbs" advice simply doesn't work and we need to control our carbohydrates to a greater or a lesser degree. Each of us has to find out own right level. That's where rthe testin comes in.
