Hi everyone, my name is Keiron and I am a type 1 diabetic (insulin and diet) and I have been a diabetic for 31 years.

I have had a really bad year with ill health, having a nasty fall in January, Shingles in May and then Menigococcal Meningitis in June. Basically I have just returned from my review to be informed that my HBA1c is 11.3 and my Thyroid is way too low, and I am now awaiting to discuss this further next week with my GP. If I'm totally honest I feel like I've had enough at the moment - if its not one thing, its something else. Does anyone else on here feel like this?

Does anynoe have any good tips that help to bring down HBA1c? - I'm awaiting an operation for a frozen shoulder which has already been postponed once this year, and the nurse has told me today that it is unlikely they will operate when HBA1c is so high! I was really hoping to get the operation done and dusted before the New year to have a fresh start :(
