Hello from an expat in canada

Hello!

I'm a Brit living in Canada, we've been here about 5 years, originally from Kent.

I've recently been diagnosed with Type 2 (not shocking, with lots of family diabetics (1 and 2), I have been told for years that I have glucose intolerance and I had gestational diabetes and did insulin injections in both of my pregnancies). Still disappointed though :(

For now I'm on Metformin and I've been actively trying to lose weight - I've lost 15 lbs since May! :D

Hey Britness! What part of Canada? I have an uncle in Vancouver. We visited there in 2001 and I thought it was a lovely place. Diabetes is a b*tch but we can take it on and make it as small as part of our life as we need to. There's lots of helpful people here who give really well balanced advice if you need it. Welcome to the forum :D
