Hello peoples
I am new here, but not so new to diabetes, diagnosed type 2 since 1998.
My Hba1c is 7.6, I weuld like to bring it down further, but HOW? I was interested in starting a low carb diet, now I am not so sure.

It seems that many people here are against it, but you are the experts after all; so please can anyone help me?

I hope that I havent done anything wrong already, am a litte nervous.

Thanks
Inez

We are not experts Inez, just T2s (and T1s and some even in between) and as regards T2 and low carb diets, all I can say is it worked for me, I am at 5% at the lasy HbA1c.

As with all things in life, some will be for, others against. You just have to make your own decision.

7.6% is not so bad but it does need to come down, maybe less than 7% would be good. Reducing carbs will bring your Bgs down, but we all vary, it works for some but not for others. Giving it a try would be worthwhile?

Have a look at viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17088
there is some good advice there.

Keep asking and we will keep replying.
