Have just joined forum having been diagnosed T2 last November, age 56 male (diet & exercise working ok). Forum look useful and hope to contribute soon. My interests are how to tame portion sizes, and exercise regimes.

Hi Tom and welcome to the forum. The simplest way to reduce portion sizes is to use a smaller plate,it really does work!!Read the forum and you will find different ideas on diet, find one that suits you and ask us questions, there's always someone with an answer.

Here is a link to some portion size suggestions.

Thanks for the info. Yes the plate size is crucial, and so is how much you pile it up.... some work required by me in this area of the third dimension.

Welcome.

I have used smaller plates for the last couple of months. That helps alot.

Also, since I cut out carbohydrate (bread, pasta, rice anad potato) my ravenous hunger and carb cravings have gone. I'm no longer obsessed with my next meal.
