Hi Everyone

I'm a 47 year FT teacher, busy family mum and desperate to get my health and weight on the right path. I'm not currently diagnosed as T2 but think I'm pretty much prediabetic.

I've tried to read and research around the topic of LCHF but there seems to be so much out there that it's a bit of a minefield to navigate. I've read some of the introductory posts but really don't know where to begin.

Did you just all stop eating the 'white stuff' or do it in stages?
Do I need to start counting carbs?
Should I invest in a blood sugar monitor? If so, any recommendations?

These - as well as my post about lunch ideas is my starting point and any guidance you can provide would be greatly received - especially about the blood sugar monitor

Thanks

Hi and welcome. A useful starting point would be finding out out if you are prediabetic before launching into a LCHF eating plan. Your GP can organise a blood test called an HbA1c which shows how much excess glucose has been in your blood in the previous 3 months. As a FT teacher and mother there are a whole range of reasons why you may be feeling tired, rundown etc - teaching (or trying to) during Covid being one of them!
