Hi there, I was invited to the health MOT advised by the NHS and went along for a blood test followed by my results a week later. I was told there was no need to fast before the blood test so had my breakfast before going along. One of the many results was for diabetes and I was told my score was 46 which makes me "pre-diabetes". I have since discovered that the test was for a Hba1c reading. When I have just read about this test there is reference to percentages but not numbers. I was told that if my score exceeded 48 I would have diabetes and if it was less than 42 I would not. The practice leaflet I was given is pretty useless and I have been advised to be tested again in 6 months. My cholesterol readings were a total of 6 broken down to HDL - 1.3 and LDL of 4.3.
Should I be worried and if so - what do you recommend?
