I was diagnosed as having Type 2 in December 2010, got some dietary advice from the GP's nurse and had a retinopathy test. Since then I've heard nothing but have arranged for a blood sugar test this Wednesday and decided I must be serious bout my diabetes.

I only got my membershipto the forum activated today and have been surprised at the wealth of information to be found on the forum and the good humoured approach of all the contributors.

Hi Geoff and welcome to the forum I see you are already making yourself at home. I hope you enjoy the meetings in Brighton. The Forum Monitors have written some basic information for new members and I think you will find this useful. You might find the dietary recommendations are different from what the GPs nurse has told you but we think this works well - give it a try

Welcome to the forum Geoff!

There are many well controlled type 2's on here who are more than willing to share their experiences with you, read up first then fire away!

Hi Geoff, another relatively recent diet controlled type two here. I've found this board an excellent source of info, the search function is particularly useful if there's anything specific you want to know about.

Hi Geoff,

Welcome too the forum,

Ben
