Hi, I've already typed in some different forums, I didn't know there was a site to introduce yourself. I have a type 1 daughter age 8 diagnosed three weeks ago. The main problem is carb counting for her levels, and feeding her - and my three other children - who are all very sad at the lack of sweets/biscuits/cake. I have millions of questions about school and exercise and snacks and hypos and levels. I'm not sure why I never name my daughter because presumably not many people on here know each other. But I don't name her. Looks like a great web site though!

Hi Ginx, I'm in pretty much the same situation as you - our 6YO daughter was diagnosed as type 1 on Tuesday, we're still a little in shock and don't really know what to expect yet. Steep learning curve or what!

Hi to you both my daughter who is 10 was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. She is has had two hypo's today lowest 2.3 so scary :( think she has a stomach bug.

Deb it sure is a Steep learning curve.

Sounds scarey.

Mini Deb fainted when they did the finger prick at the hospital, from what I've read that would be a hyper as opposed to a hypo - also explains why she passed out at playgroup 3 years ago when she got stressed!

I just want to cuddle her & take it all away, but instead of that I have to stick needles in her....ah well, such is life an' all that. *shrug*
