Hi everyone. My name is Mandy and Im 71 and have type 2. I'm an art student doing a degree in contemporary design craft after retiring 5 years ago. Im disabled, first by motorbike accidents and then by a knee replacement that went wrong after I fell on it. This in turn has put my back and hips out, so I can't walk more than quarter of a mile of so now and need a stick. I love gardening and ceramics and used to love fishing but I can't get down and up the banks any more. I am putting on weight and not managing my diet very well at the moment so I thought I'd join the community so I wouldn't feel so on my own with it. Being around young students who seem to live on home made cakes is proving to be my Nemesis....that and no will power. Im pleased to be joining you all and look forward to meeting you.
