Hi everyone, just joined the forum. I’m 63 years old and have had type 1 diabetes since I was 13. My 50th anniversary this month.
Treatment and advice has changed so much in that time, from glass syringes, metal needles and a tablet that either went dark blue on a good day or bright orange on a bad one , when dropped in a test tube of urine.
we were made to experience a hypo before we left hospital after a several day stay and was told by strangers we would go blind and loose limbs !! How things have changed.
