Hi all
My name is Adam, I'm from Denmark. I was diagnosed with Type 1 in 1993, at the age of 33. For the first many years I've kind of kept the disease to myself. I've gone to the 3 times a year check ups, but haven't really talked to any other diabetics. I've never told my workplace that I was a diabetic either. Why? Well it kinda worked for me, I take my disease seriously, but I didn't want it to be a dominating factor in my every day life.
So far so good, I'm well regulated and no problems yet. I haven't had a single day off work due to diabetes, so I feel I control the disease, not the other way around. But lately I've both felt a need to talk to others for good advice etc., and my physician that I've had since 1993, has repeatedly told me that I'm so well regulated that I ought to share my experience. I thought about that for a few years, and then one day sat down to write a book about my experience as a diabetic. The book exists in Danish and has recently been translated to English. I'm now more active on forums, so far primarily in Denmark and the US, but now also in the UK
Now that I briefly introduced myself, I have a question for this forum. Does anybody use the Medtronic Continuous Glucose Monitoring equipment? I borrowed one from my doctor for 2 weeks and what it told me made me change the way I take insulin. And where can I buy it on the web, in Denmark it's controlled, not for everybody to buy without a prescription?
Thanks!
