Type of diabetes
Type 2
Hi, I'm Susan, I'm 56 diagnosed with type 2 about twelve years ago. My sugars are not that well managed, despite Metformin and insulin.
I have osteoarthritis in every joint. And currently awaiting a total knee replacement. (October 28th ) in one knee. I have diabetic neuropathy, background retinopathy, I've just had a cataract op on one eye.....( I'm really fit and healthy really.....)
I am really down at present as knee op had been cancelled twice in last month, I have difficulty walking.... Back pain because of osteoarthritis in hips and lower spine.
I have three gorgeous grandsons, a wonderful husband.
I am battling to get my sugars under control. But it is a long battle.
Are you bored with me yet ?

Hi Susan
Welcome to the forum. We have similar problems i am waiting for a hip replacement at the moment but I live in Spain so the process is slightly different here. I am classed as high risk after suffering 2 strokes and having diabetes so I have to go to the pain clinic first to try and control the pain ( first appointment Friday).
Lots of helpful friendly people on this site so just ask and someone will help .

hello Susan

have you adjusted your diet to help with blood sugars?

It can really help, especially if you need to lose weight.
