hello
I've come by looking for some information and to try to learn a bit, I have PCOS and am on metformin for that. I'm also on a lot of steroids and other medication for Behcet's Disease.
I've been extremely ill recently and have had many symptoms that made me wonder if I was pre diabetic or diabetic. Sometimes I need to drink loads and loads and wee an awful lot! Also I get several episodes where I feel quite drowsy and shaky and if I eat something I feel better after a little bit. In the hour after I eat I feel hot, my hands and feet are tingly and I have palpitations. I have no idea if any of this is blood sugar related.
I bought a little monitor to gather some info before I see my GP on friday. My fasting is 4.1 which sounds perfect to me, an hour after eating last night it was 9.7 and 2 hours later it was 7.9
I did think it couldn't get too high as I'm already on 500mg metformin twice a day for my PCOS. I don't want to worry about this unnecessarily, but I'd like to know why eating makes me feel really rubbish for a couple hours and why I get these drowsy, shaky episodes.
thanks, great to find you
Fran
