Hello,

Greetings from a British expat in Indonesia. I've had type 2 Diabetes for approx six years and take medication, try to watch my diet and exercise. Sadly over here there's not much support in the way of networking with others, so I'm absolutely delighted to be part of this forum. I do hope to be able to share my experiences and learn from others.

Adrian :)

Hi Adrian and welcome to the forum from another expat :)

If there is anything you would like to know just ask and someone will help. We would be interested to hear more about how you are looking after your diabetes if you feel like sharing.

Hi daisy1,

Thanks for the welcome. :)

It was quiet a shock when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with a drastic mmol/I figure of over 22.4. :( I went to the doctor with a completely different condition and it was spotted. I had no choice but to immediately change my dietary intake, was put on medication and began to exercise. I've never really been one for taking tablets so this was all a new learning curve for me. I suppose the key for me personally is to learn to how to control diabetes and not let it control you.
