Hi i was diagnosed with type 2 last year and am metformin have checked my bloods tonight and it is 26.5 should i be going to docs in the morning ????

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

That reading is very high, how are you feeling? You could phone 111, to get advice and help.

Hopefully another type 2 will be along with some helpful advice, but please take care and keep testing.

What did you eat if I may ask?

Dump the chips and unless the sausage is around 85% pure meat, that might not have helped either. Perhaps feeling ill as well?

26 is way too high but I guess you know that. What is your usual diet ?

its not that good really mike struggling to actualy get used to haveing type 2 am going to have to get a grip of it and try and change my diet

Hi @lastresort ,

As far as I know I have never been at 26.5 have you just done the one test.

Try washing you hands and doing it again. Do you normally test regularly, I'm only thinking are your strips in date.

I would certainly be ringing 111 and asking advice.

Although it won't help you at this moment in time, I have tagged @daisy1 so she can give you a long list of info which will be very helpful.

You say diagnosis was last year ... can you say when?

It's IS a struggle in the early days but diet is the key (well, one of them), hence the question. It can be done with strict control exercise and determination. You'll feel a damned sight better than you do now if you apply yourself so feel free to ask more questions :)

Lastresort, I really do think you should be ring 111, nothing to lose and they will give you hopefully the correct advice.

Those numbers are very high I wouldn't want to be waiting till tomorrow.

Have you tested again in the last hour to see whether it's dropping?

Hi Lastresort,
Once you have accepted it it does get easier, and in fact there are a few positives, don't seen like it at first, but if you get it under control you can feel better than you have ever done. I was quite surprised.
