Couldn’t understand why I went high after lunch & dinner & why correction doses brought me down so slowly - then discovered I’ve put a Levemir cartridge in my pen instead of Novarapid. I usually I inject 13 units of Levemir ( 7 in the morning & 6 at night) but since 14.00 I’ve injected 14.5 units. Even without tonight’s 6 units, that’s 8 units more than usual. I usually stay within my target range ( 3.9 - 7.8) through low carb diet ( occasional highs up to 9.0). Have been between 11.0 - 7.0 & now rising after dinner. Should I let myself run high and the extra Levemir will eventually bring me down (& not use any NovaRapid or do tonight’s Levemir)? Any advice gratefully received!

Hi I’ve done it myself first thing is don’t panic , myself I took Levimir as normal think I dropped it a unit or two . but just keep taking regular bloods and treat as normal , u may see a few lows but they are easily treatable , within a day or two things will be back to normal , to be honest when I did it I dint really notice a great deal of difference, a day of a few ups nd down will not hurt .
