New to monitoring, I'm type 2

This mornings fasting was 11.5

Yesterday mid morning was 15.8 - about two hours after breakfast but I don't know what te mornin level was as I forgot to check before I ate

I take metformin 1g twice a day

Just starting to test to see how different food affects me

I've had some advice on other posts about food to avoid etc and some seems pro high fat food - I'm confused as I need to lose weight and can't see how high fat would help?

Eating fat doesn't make you fat. Apart from the link given by Lexa above, have a read of the item linked top in my sig below.

What are you eating for breakfast? (and other meals).

In trying to figure out what I can tolerate
Poached eggs and one piece of toast seemed ok - White bread sent my sugars sky high lol!

Other meals I think are definitely too carb heavy though I've cut down potato and trying sweet potato instead

Have you got the Carbs & Cals book to check what carb content different foods have?
