So okay went to bed last night bg was 7.5mmols had my levimer beside me. Recorded my result and 20u in my book. Then I must have bloody fell asleep! Woke up this morning at 15.5mmols checked my levimer (I have a Timesulin cap on it that counts down the hours since I last took it) and it's telling me 26hours!! So I forgot my 20u last night. Now I'm high. Should I take an extra correction or add more onto my morning background? I usually take 20u at bedtime and 6u in the morning

@samantha13 With that split, your overnight will still be having an effect during the day, although it's difficult to say how much. If you divide your evening dose by weight, what number do you get? That would give an indication of how much additional you need to take in the morning.

In the meantime, I would take morning as usual and bring levels down with fast acting.

u/kg us basically 0.2, which is the critical number.

If you look at this graph, it suggests that your overnight insulin (assuming you took it at 10pm) would start to run out around 8-10am, then your 6u would normally kick in (if injected at 8) around 9.30-10am.

It's up to up to elect what you do, but in your situation, I'd probably manage my bg level down with the fast acting and use it as an opportunity to basal test and see how my daytime insulin really worked!
