Hi All,

I decided to do a BG test on my husband a few days a go and it came out 7.2 on fasting, then again this morning before food. This time the results were 6.7. I told him to make an appointment for the doctors as it will do no harm to have his sugars done. His diet is not great. Today he went to the shops for some groceries and came back for him. Large bag of Pretzels, Ready made waffles which he will have syrup on, cheese cheddars (6 pack) he will not eat them all at once, but I was quite annoyed because of his fasting BG levels with the meter. He seem's to be brushing it off. I am really worried that he is not taking things seriously and that he will get sick. The other thing that annoys me is that I am rigid about my carb intake now after being educated on this forum, and he is not even making the effort. His BG did go down 3 hours after he ate (Was a little later than the 2 hours of testing) it was then 5.7 after eating porridge and two slices of toast. I am hoping that perhaps some on here can give him a little jolt by telling him through me that this is not to be taken lightly. His sister and mother had diabetes and both had heart disease. He really should be taking this seriously. He said "Oh it's not that high. I said you may be pre diabetes with those fasting levels. Any advice would be most welcome. He consists of pizza, hot dogs, french fries which are done in an air-fryer, meat and potatoes, he eats to much bread also although brown. He has what I call a very immature pallet. He east what I call kids foods, chicken nuggets etc. He will not touch any vegetable at all.

I'm assuming he has always eaten like this? So I bet he already knows such a diet is far from ideal. My opinion is that you can't change him until he wants to change.
