Hi BigBasset
I have been type 2 for over 10 years and slowly the medication has increased - now on metformin 500mg tablets x4 /day, Januvia (sitaglyptin) 100mg x 1/d and gliclazide x 1/d.
I have been trying hard to get around 6 hours of sleep, latest eating food to be around 5 - 6pm and morning eating around 9am to allow ketosis to happen. I try to keep the evening meal light and small, does not always work but I try.
I would suggest you push yourself to go for a brisk walk, either one long one, or several short ones, ideally daily or as a minimum once a week. For the food, I would try to control what and how much you are eating. Try to go for lots of salady type combinations, mix it up, add some cottage cheese, different sauces for flavours, perhaps spice it up a little. Anything to get some variety so that you stick with it.
Yes, cutting down on the carbs will help and having a friend or buddy with you on the journey will also help, to motivate you and to keep your mind off the food.
I hope this helps.
